The Ambassador of Mali to Washington, DC (USA), His Excellency Mr. Sékou Berthe, received in audience today, March 10, 2025, Mr. Éric B. Trachtenberg, Director General of the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC), headquartered in Washington, DC.
Mr. Trachtenberg was accompanied by Mr. Kanwar Usman, Head of Textiles at the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC).
The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the state of cooperation between the ICAC and Mali and to explore ways to further strengthen it.
The Ambassador thanked Mr. Trachtenberg for his interest in helping Mali promote its cotton through the ICAC, and attempted to resolve any misunderstandings between the CMDT and the ICAC. Mr. Trachtenberg informed the Ambassador of his intention to visit Mali between July and September 2025 to discuss with the Malian authorities responsible for promoting cotton.
The Ambassador reassured his interlocutor of the Embassy’s support and promised to expeditiously forward his request for an audience to the relevant Malian authorities upon receipt.
